Exuma
Oceans, Rivers, Lakes, Water Management • 56m
Exuma is a documentary film that uses innovative cinematography above and below the surface to highlight the surreal beauty of the Exuma Cays. The Exumas are a string of small islands in the Bahamas and this film is the first to highlight the beauty of these remote ʺout islands.ʺ The film is a window into this surreal world of sand, sky and water through the eyes and thoughts of a young woman who lives there. “Exuma” is lightly and gracefully narrated by Susanna Girolamo, a lady of the islands. She also appears on camera under and above the water, righteously showing off her beautiful home. Underwater and time-lapse imagery are used to show a side of the Exumas that few people, even those lucky enough to have visited, have ever seen.
